REVELATION

* Wigglesworth

* Acts 6:1-7

i. Principle – v2 – “not right”

ii. Priority – v4 – “attention”

iii. Proposal – v6 – “presented”

iv. Proclaimed – v7 – “spread”

“I think preachers are getting lost in a multitude of smaller duties. The preacher has a place in the economy of God. He is in danger of becoming so involved with secondary affairs that he loses his prophetic gift. The devil doesn’t care how great a success a preacher is in any other field, if he can just kill the prophet in him.”

Dr Vance Havner

1. TWO DIFFERENT REALMS

Watchman Nee says:

“[There are]Two different realms; one is that of doctrine – the other is that of revelation: the first can be attained with a little effort, a little cleverness and a little eloquence; the second is beyond human ability.”

2. PRINCIPLES OF REVELATION

a. Inner Illumination – Eph. 1:18

b. Immediate Breakthrough

c. Spiritual not just Physical

3. Watchman Nee – “No Word, no works”

“We learn from the Bible that God has a prime work to perform on earth which is to utter His Word. If the Word of God is taken away then almost nothing is left of God’s work. No word, no work. When the Word of God is eliminated the work is reduced to near zero.”

4. PROCESS OF REVELATION

a. Receiving the Light – Eph. 1:17

b. Fixing the Light

c. Sharing the Light – 1 Cor. 2:13

5. LIGHT SHINES INTO THE SPIRIT

Watchman Nee says:
“Light first shines into the spirit, but God does not purpose to have the light remain there. He wishes the light to reach the understanding. After light has reached the understanding, it no longer passes away but can be fixed. Revelation is not permanent in nature; it is like lightning which flashes and passes away. But when light shines and man’s understanding takes it in and knows its meaning, then the light is fixed and we know its content. When the light is only in the spirit it comes and goes freely, but once it enters our thought and understanding it becomes anchored. From then on we are able to use the light.”
