The-Great-Indian-Elephant1.jpgIn my daily reading I am in Deuteronomy at the moment. I used to find it boring and repetitive, now I try to take the challenge on the chin as it re-tells Israel’s history along with the giving, and interpretation of the Law.

It seems to me God is keen on reminding us of lessons we have learned.

Revelation 2:1-5,

“‘I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent.”

Deuteronomy 4:29-31

But from there you will seek the LORD your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul…you will return to the LORD your God and obey his voice. For the LORD your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.

Even with something so amazing as being forgiven, loved and chosen by God, still we forget. Is it time to rekindle your love, and deeds, for Christ?
