According to this research (see video below) by the end of this century the worlds largest cities will each host a population of nearly 90,000,000,000 people. I simply cannot imagine how a city will grow to that size, how logistically it will work, how it will “feel” i.e. will it really identify as one city or as many all of which have simply fused together? The thought of it is simply beyond my comprehension or ability to apprehend. (By the way some estimates put to population of Lagos at 100,000,000 by the year 2100.)

However, this did make me ponder God. After all he is the one who created, and knows by name, each human being—every single person in every home within those cities. More than that he is the Creator, this universe—estimated to be 93,000,000,000 light years in diameter (and probably larger than that—was created by his Word and Spirit. What manner of God is this, how great are his thoughts, how astounding his deeds.

In case this made you wonder Wikipedia states this about the universe in terms of how many miles it covers:

The radius of the observable universe is therefore estimated to be about 46.5 billion light-years and its diameter about 28.5 gigaparsecs (93 billion light-years, 8.8×1023 kilometres or 5.5×1023miles).

Thats too big a number for me to type.

How great is the Lord our God.
