Today I was meant to be going out with Anser to visit a few different works. We have had to cancel it as three of his friends were shot last night during an attempted robbery on the street where he lives. Anser is currently at the hospital. Please do pray for the families of all concerned, and for wisdom and grace to flow from, and through, Anser and his family. Karachi is a violent city and such incidents are not uncommon.
Pakistan seems to be on a knife edge with extremist factions fighting hard for position and power. It is a country which needs men and women empowered by the Gospel of Jesus Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit, who can take good news and live it, demonstrating its amazing efficacy in cleansing and healing human hearts. There are many good men and women of God living here who are doing just that. Please pray for them, that they might be a light that shines in the darkness.
Last night I spoke at house church meeting. The photo above was taken on the roof top where we met and show the lights surrounding us, light is so powerful that 20 Watt bulbs can be seen so far away.
Psalm 42:5-6a was my text and I spoke on hoping in God when circumstances say otherwise.
Why are you downcast, O my soul?
Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
my Savior and my God.
My soul is downcast within me;
therefore I will remember you
